The team:
The Finance Management Analyst Program (FMAP) will introduce you to Bank of America and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Group. The CFO Group is responsible for the overall financial management of our company, including accounting, balance sheet management, financial planning and analysis, corporate treasury, investor relations, corporate investments, and tax. Within the Chester CFO Group, there are various teams for example.
- Data Management (DM)
- Global Liquidity Management (GLM)
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Operational Risk and Control (OR&C)
- Global Corporate & Investment Banking GCIB), and Global Markets & International (GM&I)
- Cross Markets Services
The FMAP assigns participants to a position supporting one of the teams within The CFO Group. Rotations are developed based on business need and aligned to skillset and provide the opportunity for the Analysts to support different teams across the various business groups listed above.

Joining our Chester office would make you part of one of the largest investment banks in the world, and the only Tier One Investment Bank in the Northwest. As a Financial Analyst, you’ll be part of the team responsible for the overall financial management of Bank of America, ensuring accuracy & control, being the source of timely financial information to both internal & external stakeholders, acting as a trusted business partner, innovating & driving change, and being the firm’s financial conscience. This work helps multinational organisations, governments, and individuals to trade globally and is critical to our success as a bank.
This job is responsible for participating in the Finance Management Analyst Program (FMAP), a two-year rotational development program focusing on financial and management accounting, corporate and strategic finance, data management and internal treasury functions within the CFO Group. Key responsibilities include partnering with different internal business functions to develop a solid knowledge base of the CFO functional areas and a broad range of skills.
Job expectations include progressing through the CIMA Finance Leadership Program, working on projects, research, and activities designed to build business acumen and demonstrate intellectual curiosity. When Analysts complete the program, they have a better idea of areas they are interested in within CFO and have a unique set of skills to take with them to their next role.
As part of The CFO Group, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate an eye for business and put your problem-solving skills to work. You will learn from and interact with a variety of internal business partners across all areas of the bank, gaining excellent exposure to the industry.
Training and Development
Your training and development are our top priority with extensive formal training offered at the start of the program in addition to on-the-job support, educational speaker events and mentorship throughout.
Responsibilities:
The FMAP is structured as two one-year rotations across different teams within The CFO Group. The program gives participants a glimpse into the overall financial management of our company, vision, and culture. The primary expectations of a Finance Management Analyst (FMAP) include but are not limited to:
- Taking proactive approach to learning the bank’s products, strategies, opportunities for enhancements, Operational Excellence, culture and CFO Priorities.
- Forecasting financial and non-financial trends, developing models and performs financial analysis of business investments.
- Supporting internal financial planning and management accounting functions.
- Presenting financial data and analysis to business partners and key stakeholders.
- Utilising emerging technologies to simplify and improve processes across the CFO Group.
- Networking with finance executives and FMAP alumni network to cultivate meaningful relationships across various lines of business.
- Advancing leadership skills by leading and/or participating in projects and committees.
Eligibility
- Candidates are required to be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a completion time frame between January 2025 and July 2026. Completion means that you have completed all final exams, coursework, and have no outstanding requirements for graduation. Please note that we reserve the right to request evidence of this completion date before extending an offer.
- Achieved minimum of 112 UCAS point (or equivalent) and on track for a minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent)
- To be eligible to apply for this role in Chester, you must have the right to work in the UK as visa sponsorship is not available.
- Able to join the programme in July 2026

It is not necessary for new recruits to have completed any work experience in financial services as industry specific knowledge can be learned on the job. In addition, you will attend a structured learning program which provides insight into the financial products we trade and the markets in which we operate.
All new hires will also undertake a formal on-boarding program with a focus on navigating our organisation and ongoing support to ensure a smooth transition into the working environment of our firm.
