As our FinOps Manager, you will be the driving force behind Curve’s end-to-end finance operations - spanning accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, journal postings and system health (NetSuite).
You will partner with cross-functional teams (Controllership, Treasury, FP&A and Operations) to elevate controls, champion automation and ensure our financial systems scale with the business.
This is an opportunity to shape a best-in-class finance function, working with modern tools such as NetSuite and Spendesk, while influencing financial operations across the organisation.
Key Accountabilities:
Accounts Payable (“AP”)
- Own all accounts‑payable activities, including invoice processing, vendor reconciliations and cash‑flow monitoring.
- Maintain proactive vendor management: ensure supplier data is complete and up to date, resolve vendor queries and build productive supplier relationships.
- Oversee and run the weekly payment runs and expense report approvals, ensuring that all approvals are consistent with internal controls and escalating any breaches of policy.
- Run accurate and timely aged accounts‑payable reports and analyse trends to drive corrective action.
- Remediate aged payables by reallocating payments that were posted to unspecified or incorrect vendor codes.
- Triage and resolve queries in the daily accounts‑payable inbox, escalating issues where necessary.
- Ensure new supplier accounts are set up correctly in NetSuite, in line with internal procedures, vendor terms and appropriate VAT treatment.
Accounts Receivable (“AR”)
- Manage the full cycle of receivables: raising invoices and issuing statements when required.
- Monitor aged debt, initiate collection actions to limit exposure to bad debt.
- Verify that all receivable postings and reconciliations are accurate and complete.
- Provide regular debt‑dashboard updates and performance reports to the senior finance leadership.
Systems & Automation
- Serve as an in-house NetSuite and Spendesk expert, troubleshooting configuration, defining best practices and driving system enhancements.
- Support on the automation of bank-feed ingestion, journal–entry workflows and reporting outputs to eliminate manual touchpoints.
- Lead UAT for system upgrades, provide clear feedback on ledger functionality and champion user adoption.
Cash Management & Reporting
- Support on weekly bank reconciliations and supporting on posting all cash‑entry transactions in NetSuite.
- Support the cash‑flow forecasting process by anticipating future payment schedules and identifying material one‑off items.
- Maintain up‑to‑date AR and AP dashboards for key performance indicators.
Compliance & Controls
- Apply a sound working knowledge of VAT (standard‑rated, zero‑rated and exempt) to ensure correct invoice coding and compliance.
- Maintain complete and accurate accounting records and ensure timely VAT submissions.
- Review HMRC correspondence and advise on any required actions, penalties or appeals.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify process‑automation and efficiency opportunities within NetSuite and propose enhancements.
- Collaborate with the Vendor Management and broader Finance teams to streamline cross‑functional processes.
- Participate in system upgrade testing and provide feedback on ledger‑related functionality.
- Document processes, produce training materials and mentor junior colleagues to embed a culture of excellence and ownership.
Skills & Experience:
- Eight or more years’ hands-on experience in AP, AR or FinOps roles - ideally in a scale-up or FinTech environment.
- Proven ability to remediate aged-payables and aged-receivables and drive sustained process improvements.
- Demonstrable experience in vendor management and running aged‑payables reports.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including pivot tables, vlookups and data analysis.
- Familiarity in UK GAAP and VAT regulations, with practical experience managing HMRC submissions.
- Advanced proficiency with NetSuite (configuration, modules and reporting) and Spendesk; track record of automation projects.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and proactive problem-solving orientation.
- Excellent stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- AAT qualified, part‑qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent vocational certification.
- Experience with the financial‑close process and system implementations.
