What you’ll do


This is a role for a talented individual who has a passion for success and excels at performing detailed financial analysis and reporting. An important role within the FP&A and wider Finance teams, there will be opportunity to understand, support and get involved with all areas of the business.


The FP&A Analyst is responsible for managing a number of key monthly deliverables, including the production of accurate management accounts, KPI’s and Exec level reporting. They will be expected to deliver insightful analysis and assist stakeholders to make informed business decisions.

A business partner to other departments, they will work particularly closely with Finance and Operational colleagues. They will ensure accurate financial information is available to track performance and support key forward looking business processes, including the Budget.

The successful candidate will have the ability to get into the detail and tell the story behind the numbers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management Financial Reporting – responsible for producing the management accounts and Flash reporting through the month end process. Work closely with the Financial Control team to ensure accuracy of accounts, undertake detailed review of all GL postings with particular focus on costs. Support with preparation of Board and Exec level packs.
  • Monthly Variance Analysis – produce timely and robust variance analysis with commentary for inclusion in senior level reporting packs. Develop MI to ensure variances can be monitored through the month end close process in real time.
  • Cost Reporting – own cost reporting across the organisation while championing cost efficiency. Produce monthly cost MI by both spend category and supplier, for review during the close process. Produce monthly cost centre statements for all areas of the business, ensuring these are delivered on time and are fully understood. Undertake cost deep dives as required.
  • KPI Reporting – own the production of the monthly business KPI’s, ensuring the business can track key metrics that will help senior management make informed business decisions. Develop analysis to understand and track the drivers behind the numbers.
  • Budgeting & Planning – support the Director of FP&A with the annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, taking ownership for cost budgets and other items as required.
  • Regulatory (and other external) reporting own the production of the various regulatory returns that the Finance team are required to deliver, for submission to the FCA. Own additional reporting to key external partners, including Mastercard and Apple.
  • Business Partnering – build effective relationships within Finance and with the Tech and Operational teams, to ensure the business has the financial and analytical support it needs. Take ownership for any regular internal financial reporting to other departments.
  • Ad-hoc Analysis and reporting – as and when required, to improve business performance or fulfil other obligations – e.g. competitor analysis, new business opportunities.


Who you are

The ideal candidate will have strong academics and a background in Finance / FP&A within Financial Services. They will have great attention to detail and a desire to understand the numbers, and the metrics, that impact financial results. They are happy navigating accounting software, working with large datasets and producing insightful analysis for senior stakeholders. They love improving processes and collaborating with colleagues.


What you need

Essential Experience/Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Part or newly qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA preferred)
  • Advanced IT skills, especially MS Excel & PowerPoint
  • Finance background in Financial Services
  • Expertise in financial analysis (e.g. utilising financial models, analysing financial statements)


Desirable Experience:

  • FP&A experience in Financial Services
  • Experience with SAGE accountancy software

  • Great analytical skills and an eye for detail
  • Driven and enthusiastic - takes ownership for work with limited supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritise effectively to meet deadlines
  • Strong stakeholder management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
