Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Financial Planning Analyst to join our finance team. This pivotal position supports strategic financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis across our lending portfolios and structured funding vehicles. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership to deliver actionable insights and maintain robust, Excel-driven financial models. This role offers unique exposure to product-level analytics, structured funding, and capital markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed forecasts and Excel-based business models for multiple lending products (e.g. BTL, Bridging).
- Lead budget planning and rolling forecasts with heavy focus on robust Excel modelling.
- Prepare financial projections and reports for investors and funding partners.
- Analyse portfolio performance, loan book metrics, and contribute to board packs, scenario models, and monthly variance analysis.
- Provide critical Excel modelling and analytics for warehouse funding, securitisations, and SPVs.
- Liaise with treasury and capital markets to scrutinise funding structures and costs.
- Monitor covenants, conduct stress tests, and support investor reporting.
- Partner with credit, risk, treasury, and operations teams to provide finance insight on new product development and strategic business initiatives.
Key Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with 4–6 years’ experience in FP&A, structured finance, lending, or related financial services.
- Advanced Excel modelling skills, particularly for lending products, cashflow waterfalls, stress testing, and funding analytics.
- Previous exposure to retail finance and lending environments (e.g. BTL, bridging, real estate finance, or mortgages) is essential.
- Experience with warehouse funding lines, securitisations, and special purpose vehicles (SPVs) highly desirable.
- Strong analytic and data skills; experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is a plus.
- Commercial and strategic mindset, detail-oriented, self-starter, and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced business.
- Excellent communicator, able to clearly present complex financials.
