Overview
This pivotal role is responsible for the ongoing maintenance, support, and tactical improvement of PRS's Finance systems, with a primary focus on IBM Planning Analytics (TM1). The Finance Systems Analyst will ensure the reliability and efficiency of day-to-day financial planning, forecasting, and reporting capabilities. Acting as a subject matter expert, this role will focus on system stability, user support, and delivering incremental enhancements that align with immediate business objectives.
Responsibilities
- System Maintenance & Support:
○ Provide expert advice and support to the business on finance systems to ensure the right level of reports, analytics, and data are available for reporting deadlines.
○ Liaise with third-party support suppliers, like IBM, to report and resolve any TM1 software issues.
○ Manage system risks by identifying and communicating issues to relevant stakeholders, and seeing them through to resolution or escalation.
○ Review, maintain, and apply audit controls within finance systems to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Tactical Development & Improvement:
○ Manage development activities, including system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), user training, and documentation to ensure successful implementation of enhancements.
○ Lead feedback sessions after reporting and planning cycles to identify and implement finance system improvements.
○ Support the TM1 upgrade project, including specifying client components, assisting with testing, and managing the transition of TM1 from on-premise to a cloud (SaaS) environment.
- Data & Process Management:
○ Retrieve, manipulate, and analyse data from ODBC data sources using SQL.
○ Use Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) for the creation and maintenance of solutions to enhance business processes.
○ Supervise and train the Financial Insights Analyst.
About You
- A high level of academic achievement or equivalent relevant finance work experience.
- Experience working within finance and FP&A teams.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in IBM Planning Analytics including:
○ Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW)
○ Planning Analytics for Excel (PAx)
○ TM1 Web
○ Strong Understanding Of
■ Cubes
■ Dimensions
■ Rules/feeders
■ View and subset MDX
■ TurboIntegrator (TI) processes.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
- Experience with data analysis, interpretation, and using SQL to retrieve data from relational databases.
- Proven research, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical and pragmatic solutions.
- Strong communication skills with experience in building rapport and delivering high-quality reporting to all organisational levels.
- Demonstrable experience in customer service and stakeholder management.
