The Role

This is not a maintenance job. It is a builder’s role. You’ll design and run the financial and operational backbone of Pynea while we’re scaling in real time. One moment you’ll be overseeing payroll, contracts, and cash flow; the next you’ll be building models and forecasts that shape company-wide strategy, from pricing and hiring to fundraising and growth.

You’ll work directly with the CEO and leadership team, with a regular seat at board discussions. This is a role for someone who wants to influence the direction of a high-growth, rule-breaking company, not just keep score.

What you’ll do

• Build financial systems: forecasting, reporting, and scenario planning that inform strategic decisions across the business.
• Manage core operations: payroll, compliance, vendor management, and contracts.
• Oversee cash flow, spend tracking, and risk controls.
• Partner with Product, Marketing, and Engineering to align spend with growth.
• Support investor updates and fundraising preparation.

What this role is not

• Not finance-as-usual. If you want neat playbooks and predictable routines, this isn’t it.
• Not caretaker work. You won’t “keep the lights on”; you’ll rewire the system as we scale.
• Not for the risk-averse. Ambiguity is normal here, and speed and creativity matter.

• Strong finance skills: modelling, forecasting, and interpreting data into strategy.

• Ability to handle both finance and operational responsibilities.
• Knowledge of compliance areas: payroll, contracts, tax, and legal basics.
• Adaptability to work both independently and cross-functionally.
