RORA is expanding which means we’re hiring a FinOps (Finance Operations) Lead to innovate, streamline, and scale finance operations across multiple startups.

the Role

As a FinOps Lead, you’ll be embedded within partner companies, working directly with founders and the C-suite. You'll streamline processes, ensuring finance and accountancy fundamentals are in place, automating wherever possible to improve efficiency and accuracy and support overall business growth.

the general scope of work:

• Overall management of finance operations including establishing best-in-class finance processes, building scenario-based financial models from scratch and applying strong accountancy and finance expertise across bookkeeping, billing, statutory accounts, VAT, EMI options and CAP table management. Whilst direct reports handle many of the accountancy tasks, you'll need a solid grasp of financial controls, processes, and finance tools to ensure smooth operations.
• Leading finance teams across the UK and India, facilitating weekly L&D sessions, providing technical mentorship and career growth opportunities.
• Implementing tech solutions, finance apps and automating wherever possible.
• Given the fractional nature of each contract, you'll be supporting 2 to 4 partners simultaneously, which means managing multiple expectations.

your track record should include:

• 5+ years in Finance, with experience in a senior finance role
• You must have solid experience in the startup space (series A ideally), tech or e-commerce is highly desirable
• Educational credentials such as ACA or CIMA are preferred; we also consider those partway through one of these qualifications.
• A strong understanding of what effective finance operations look like in smaller startups or scaleups.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and competing priorities.
• Experience beyond finance - you’ve partnered with operations, HR, sales, marketing, or other functions.
• Familiarity with cloud-based financial software such as Xero (strongly preferred) and tools like Dext and Pleo. You'll know what an ideal finance tech stack looks like in startups.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
