Join the team at Farmfield Hospital as a Fitness Instructor, where you will work 37.5 hours between Monday to Friday and be a part of meaningful change. You will join the Occupational Therapy team, where you will facilitate all fitness-based activities within the Occupational Therapy timetable. You'll enjoy support from the OT team, which consist of Registered Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants.

As a Fitness Instructor, You Will Be Required
- To provide a sports and exercise service to service users at Farmfield Hospital.
- To be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating group gym facilities and sessions in the hospital. Some of these sessions will also be in the local community.
- To support service users to improve their health and wellbeing by coaching individuals/groups to lead a healthy lifestyle as well as carrying out health promotion interventions in collaboration with the physical health team.
- To use techniques to motivate individuals and empower them to identify, make and sustain positive lifestyle changes to improve health and wellbeing.
- To provide practical and emotional support and to help address the additional barriers faced by people living with mental illness.
- To work closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and OT Team in co-ordinating and facilitating client centred activities.
To Be Successful In This Role, You'll Need
- Recognised sports coaching or fitness instructor qualification.
- Experience of working with clients with mental health diagnoses.
- Experience in instructing groups and individuals in sports, exercise and physical activity.
- Experience of working as part of a team.
- Evidence of autonomous working.
- Have a knowledge of a range of sporting and fitness activities.
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of people with mental health issues.
- Ability to adapt fitness programmes in accordance with physical and Mental Health needs and risk.

Farmfield Hospital care for adult men who potentially have a forensic background and enduring a Mental Health illness such as Personality Disorder, substance misuse and challenging behaviours.
