Overall Purpose of The Job
To ensure that the Fleet Procurement Officers within Fleet Cell are trained in systems, processes and procedures necessary to deliver expected level of service. Provide subject matter expertise to Fleet Cell and act as mentor to FPO. Work along with Fleet Cell Liaison Managers to drive Compliance as per Company Policies.
Key Responsibilities And Tasks
- Continued positive enforcement of Fleet Procurement Officers integration into Fleet Cell, supporting Fleet Manager by ensuring system, process and procedure best practice training is completed and/or re-newed in a timely manner.
- Support the Fleet Cell team by ensuring FPO have access to subject matter expertise when required.
- Act as Project Manager on critical, strategic or high intensity transactional requirements such as DD, major repairs, NB's etc. promoting compliant solutions and best practice procedures.
- Work along with Fleet Cell Liaison Manager to drive compliance within Fleet Cell using system monitoring tools and QM report to pro-actively address issues in real time.
- Run regular tailored learning and development sessions, delivering consistent message throughout the Region.
- Provide higher level system authorization where appropriate, per limits set by Fleet Manager or SMO.
- Work with Global Logistics Manager on Regional or local initiatives to positively engage and embed them within Fleet Cell structure.
- Conduct internal audits across Regions and feedback on areas where there is inconsistency in role and responsibility.
- Support Fleet Manager with FPO recruitment process including functional review during interview.
- Lead functional training of new FPO using Fleet Procurement Induction plan as template.
- Take responsibility for vetting and verification of New Purchase Supplier Inclusion requests as defined in the process.
- Co-ordinate pool resource cover for holiday and illness in areas of Region where FPO numbers require it.

Essential
- Recognised marine technical qualification or experience either at sea or university, or experience in a marine purchasing role is desirable,
- Some years’ experience in a managerial role is desirable
- Good communication skills,
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with people both inside and outside the Company,
- Good planning and organisational skills,
- Assertive with a pro-active and can-do approach to work.
