About us
Hello, we’re Reach. Every day, our trusted news, stories and content connect with millions of people where they live - whether that’s on their social feed or at their neighbourhood newsstand; through their local community or their take on the hot topic of the day.
We're home to more than 120 brands - from household names like the Mirror, Express, Daily Star and Daily Record, to local titles like MyLondon, BelfastLive, and the Manchester Evening News, and brands making a splash in the US like the Irish Star.
It's our ability to understand people and the things that matter to them that makes us Britain and Ireland's largest commercial news publisher. We reach around 70% of the UK's online population, 10% of the US online population, and over 100 million social followers around the world, connecting with them on who they are, where they live and what they love.
Your story, with Reach
As a modern media organisation, we're much more than just news. And it takes a wide range of people and skills to serve diverse audiences, customers and communities like we do.
We know everyone has their own story to tell, so we’ve built an environment where every background is respected and every day is a day to explore.
We’ll help you build a career that works with your life, while giving you the space to create and grow.
About this role - Fixed Term Contract 3 months nights only 4 on 4 off.
If you like keeping things moving and take pride in a tidy, well‑run floor, this role in our Despatch team could be a great fit.
You’ll be the steady pair of hands that keeps product flowing, pallets organised and paperwork spot on. Day to day you’ll operate Fork Lift Trucks and pallet trucks to move stock safely and efficiently, feed hoppers with inserts to keep lines running, and keep a close eye on stackers and strappers so finished goods are neatly banded and ready to go.
You’ll complete daily sheets in the Distribution area with care and accuracy, support our polybagging, fold‑and‑stitch and palletiser lines when they need an extra hand, and maintain high housekeeping standards so the area is clean, safe and audit‑ready.
What you'll need to succeed:
You’ll bring the right mix of licences, know‑how and mindset. A current Counter Balance FLT licence and confidence with pallet truck operation are essential, along with recent experience in a despatch or warehouse environment. (Inhouse training provided).
You communicate clearly, follow instructions, and work safely without cutting corners. You’re organised, numerate and accurate with simple systems and paperwork, happy to lend a hand where it’s needed, and take real ownership of housekeeping and the working environment.
A strong safety focus, good spatial awareness, careful load handling and the ability to stay calm and productive when it’s busy will set you up to thrive. Flexibility for shifts and overtime when production demands it is a plus.
How we'll look after you
We take good care of our people - and that means more than just a pay packet. Whatever your role, you'll get a range of benefits, including:
