NT Food & Drink is a unique partnership between the NT, Levy UK&I and KERB Events. Together we are creating a world class hospitality destination embedded within the heart of the National Theatre’s (NT) operations, ensuring all public facing venues, as well as internal hospitality and commercial events, support the NT’s overall vision, values, and culture. The venue is made-up of three iconic theatres, housed in a brutalist architectural masterpiece, prominently poised on the banks of the River Thames, on the South Bank. The Theatre Bars and Cafes department consists of the Atrium Café – the main café located on the ground floor by the Bookshop, the Grind coffee and cocktail bar, six theatre bars and the members Bar called the Foyle Room.
Purpose
As a Team Leader, you will use your skills to maintain a high standard of quality work. This role is a floor-based role and you’ll be responsible for overseeing the delivery of operations in our Theatre Bars or Café department, and the first point of contact for Customer Service Advisors (CSA) if they need assistance. You will provide highly visible leadership front of house, greeting and engaging with customers. As Team Leader you will lead, supervise, motivate and support to coordinate CSA’s, ensuring delivery of a world class hospitality experience to all patrons of the NT. Responsibilities
- Drive World Class Hospitality at the National Theatre in an operations-based role
- Drive coffee and cocktail standards in our Theatre Bars & Cafes department ensuring teams are trained, informed and maintain high standards
- Placing orders for stock to maintain the correct stock levels and performing end of period stock counts
- Ensuring all deliveries are checked and stored promptly and correctly
- Performing engaging and informative briefings
- Supervising a team, creating a positive environment where the team feel welcomed and supported
- Being a responsible key holder
- Report any maintenance issues to senior managers
- Dealing with customer feedback and queries
- Delegating where necessary and ensuring the team are proactive at all times
- Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards Internal
- Complying with Health & Safety regulations
- Undertake any other related duties as assigned by management, in accordance with the needs of the organization.
Requirements
- Experience working in a similar role in a high volume venue
- Previous experience supervising frontline teams within a similar environment
- Good communication skills with a focus on great Customer Service
- Team player and can-do attitude
- Flexible – you will be required to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive attitude

Are you a seasoned Employment Law professional with a passion for navigating complex employee relations and Employment Tribunal cases? We’re seeking an
Employment Law Partner to oversee employment law activities across designated Compass Group sectors, delivering expert guidance and innovative solutions.
Key Accountabilities
- To manage all Employment Tribunal and Early Conciliation activity within your designated sectors including but not limited to:
- Reviewing claims and assisting with ET3 response drafting
- Devising case management and defence strategy per tribunal claim, including early identification of risk areas or jurisdictional defences
- Advising/influencing stakeholders on the prospects and risks of each claim, the proposed case management and defence strategy, and the value of the claim
- Meeting regularly with key stakeholders for your sector – MD’s, Operation Directors, Head of People and People Operations Director to build solid relationships
- Preparing all documents for hearing including tribunal bundles, witness statements, counter schedules of loss, skeleton arguments and any other documents as required
- Preparing and submitting case management applications in accordance with the case management/defence strategy
- Preparing for and representing Compass Group at all types of hearing including case management preliminary hearings, substantive preliminary hearings, judicial mediation and full merits hearings including remedy if necessary
- Providing feedback to stakeholders at the conclusion of all claims and Tribunal hearings
- Liaising professionally and effectively with key internal stakeholders including line managers of all levels of seniority, witnesses, Employee Relations team, HR team (leadership team and field-based as necessary), payroll and resourcing amongst others, with a view to building positive and collaborative working relationships
- Liaising professionally and effectively with external parties such as ACAS, unions, solicitors and barristers as part of the Tribunal case management process
- To advise line managers and HR on settlement agreement process and settlement agreement terms
- Negotiating directly with employees’ solicitors where appropriate with a view to ensuring exit as expediently and cost-effectively as possible
- Reviewing and re-drafting settlement agreements in line with Company guidelines
- Providing advice and guidance to ER (Infosys), People team and line managers on complex internal cases on an as-required basis within designated sectors
- Providing advice and guidance to the TUPE team, People team and line management on complex TUPE queries or complex large-scale TUPE transfers within designated sectors
- Undertaking mediation
- Providing advice and guidance to designated sectors on ad hoc projects
- Reviewing and approving IT access requests for designated sectors
Person Specification
- Expert knowledge of Employment Law including case law
- Min. 3 years’ experience of Employment Tribunal case management including advocacy at Employment Tribunal hearing whether in person or remotely.
- Expert knowledge of HR Policy and Process
- Expert in advising on all employee relations matters with a deep understanding of discrimination law
- Excellent Stakeholder engagement
- Excellent organisational and diary management skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong oral and written presentation skills, able to communicate and influence at all levels of seniority internally and externally
- Good attention to detail
