Foreman/Mechanic HGV

JandK Coaches are seeking a dedicated and proactive Foreman Mechanic to join our growing team based in Moneymore, Co. Londonderry. You will be responsible for ensuring our maintenance operations meet the highest standards of legal compliance and safety. JandK Coaches are one of the fastest-growing transport companies in the North of Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

Foreman duties:

· Garage based point of contact for Maintenance manager

· Developing staff

· Meeting timescale targets

· Mechanical oversight

· Receiving in parts

· Assign jobs to team members

Mechanic duties:

· General servicing

· Maintenance

· Repairs

· MOT/PSV preparation

· Diagnostics

· Breakdowns when required

· Must have at least 2 years of experience

Occasional:

· Out of hours breakdown cover duty

What We’re Looking For:

· Experience: Proven experience in transport maintenance, preferably within the bus and coach industry.

· Regulatory Knowledge: A strong understanding of UK and EU transport regulations and legislation, including driver hours, tachographs, vehicle inspections, and safety standards.

· Skills: Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

· Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and motivate teams and liaise with regulatory authorities.

· Leadership: Experience in managing a team, with the ability to mentor, coach, and develop staff.
