Lead AI Developer | Hybrid (Slough, 2 days a week) | £75,000–£90,000 + Bonus

We’re supporting a founder-led tech business building an AI-first platform within the industrial software sector. This is a hands-on technical leadership role, ideal for someone ready to take ownership of AI delivery in a modern SaaS environment.

The Opportunity

Join a small, high-impact team developing an AI Insight & Decision Platform for industrial and manufacturing businesses. You’ll lead all AI and ML initiatives – from architecting intelligent agents and predictive models to integrating them into a live SaaS product used by industry clients.

This role is focused on building practical, production-grade AI systems that deliver measurable value.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver AI-driven features such as intelligent inventory optimisation, autonomous procurement, and predictive maintenance.
Build and integrate LLM-driven components, ML pipelines, and OCR tools into a .NET/React SaaS stack on Azure.
Set technical standards for AI development and MLOps.
Work closely with developers and the Founder/CEO to define the technical roadmap.
Contribute to a major pilot project launching in mid-2026, with potential to grow into a CTO-level position in the future as the company scales.

Requirements

4+ years’ experience in AI/ML or software engineering with production responsibility.
Strong skills in Python, vector databases, LangChain or Semantic Kernel, and Azure AI/MLOps.
Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or industrial technology preferred.
Entrepreneurial, pragmatic, and comfortable working in a small, fast-paced environment.
Able to work from the Slough office at least two days per week.

£75,000–£90,000 base salary
10–20% discretionary bonus linked to pilot delivery
