We’ve partnered with an early-stage AI startup that’s reshaping how a $200+ billion industry operates. Backed by top-tier European VCs and led by a founding team with an exceptional background (Ex-Palantir, Ex-Improbable, and more incredible businesses), they are bringing AI-native workflow automation to one of the world’s most complex operational environments.
With a product live and in use by flagship customers, they're now scaling and hiring a Founding Engineer (Engineer #3) to help expand the platform and shape the future of intelligent supply chain orchestration.
Here’s everything you need to know:
💰 Salary: £100,000 - £150,000 per annum
📈 Equity: 1% - 1.5%
📍 Work location: Hybrid - 4 days onsite in their South London (accessible via Northern and Victoria line)
🏢 Industry/Type of business: AI SaaS
👥 Company size: 8 today - building toward 10+ in the next 6 months
🧩 Interview process: 4 stages - intro, system design, coding, and culture
🦄 Reporting to: Co-founder (CTO)
🎯 Working on: Expanding an MVP already in production with major players. You'll be working directly with users to build, iterate and scale intuitive tooling that automates pricing, quotation, and logistics workflows using AI. Think: reimagining complex B2B operational processes from first principles.
We’d love to chat with you about this position if:
✅ You’re a product-minded engineer with full-stack experience (React, TypeScript, Node.js, Tailwind, Python)
✅ You've worked in early-stage, fast-paced environments
✅ You’re comfortable shaping product direction, working closely with end-users, and prioritising fast feedback loops over perfection.
✅ You’ve deployed and maintained scalable, cloud-native applications (ideally on AWS), and you're confident owning infrastructure decisions as well as application code.
✅ You have strong instincts for system decomposition - taking messy, open-ended problems and turning them into clean, testable builds.
✅ You thrive on high trust, high autonomy, and direct collaboration with founders, customers, and design.
✅ You’re able to work onsite 4 days per week in London and have full UK work authorisation (sponsorship not available at this time).
Based on the client’s criteria, any of the below would make you a top applicant for this role:
✨ Prior founder experience or time spent as an early hire in a high-growth tech company
📈 History of fast progression or increasing ownership in past roles
🧠 Strong product sense - not just coding, but thinking deeply about the why
🎨 Excellent frontend instincts - thoughtful, clean UI work is central here
🤖 Exposure to AI-driven tooling or workflow automation in B2B contexts
