About the role


Hargreaves Lansdown (HL) are now recruiting for an FP&A Analyst to join the team. As part of the FP&A team, within the Commercial Finance Function, the Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst is responsible for supporting HL's financial forecasting & planning processes, in addition to driving business performance and decision making through the provision of insightful analysis.


What you'll be doing


  • Process lead of HL's financial planning processes; Annual Business Reviews (Budget + 5-year Plan) and quarterly re-forecasts
  • Design, communicate and shepherd the business through its planning timetable, co-ordinate business wide stakeholders (finance and non-finance), aggregation of financial inputs, provision of analysis and insights, co-ordinate the review process, and creation of ExCo & Board level outputs
  • Undertaking detailed scenario planning and sensitivity analysis, to inform target setting and market guidance
  • Competitor analysis vs HL forward projections to proactively identify risks and opportunities
  • Creating financial models to support valuation, planning, and forecasting to predict future performance
  • Analyse past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Evaluating financial data, examining current events and market developments to identify trends in financial performance to provide recommendations for improvement
  • Working alongside business colleagues to produce insightful, timely and well governed operational performance metrics - enabling the business to effectively manage performance
  • Cross functional collaboration with the wider finance team to ensure continuous improvement


About you


  • Experience from a professional consultancy background or significant commercial experience within a group function in a large complex organisation
  • Recently qualified to 3-year PQE
  • Demonstrable proficiency in financial modelling techniques. Adaptive Planning & BI experience is desirable but not mandatory
  • Strong analytical and data gathering skills
  • Proactive, organised and self-sufficient
  • Accomplished in forging effective relationships at all levels, skilled at influencing, negotiating and managing challenging conversations with ease
  • Solution focused mindset - with the ability to assimilate complex information and develop innovative solutions and resolve complex issues promptly
  • Experience with a variety of systems and an aptitude for learning new ones
  • Ability to transition between the 'big picture' view & detail and synthesize financial & non-financial insights from across the organisation


Interview process


The interview process for this role will be a two-stage interview consisting of competency and technical questions, as well as an assessment.


Working Schedule


The FP&A Analyst role is a Permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Our office is based in Bristol, BS1 5HL. Hybrid working is available where only 2-3 days a week is required in the office.


Salary


The salary for this role is circa £45k - £50k depending on experience.
