FP&A Manager

Insurance

London - 3 days per week in the office

Permanent

£90,000-100,000 + Benefits + Discretionary Bonus

JSS are partnered with a leading specialty insurer where they are looking for an FP&A Manager to build strong relationships and business partner with key internal stakeholders for financial performance, be a successful leader to direct reports, mentoring their development, as well as creating key financial insights and budget processes for the business.

Responsibilities:

Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnering

Build strong relationships across front and back office teams.
Provide financial insight to Heads of Lines and underwriting management.
Represent Finance in committee meetings for assigned segments.

Financial Analysis

Deliver fast, accurate analysis of key financial drivers.
Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual performance commentary.
Review financial results and budget variances.

Planning & Forecasting

Lead annual budget activities for assigned segments.
Support strategic planning and challenge stakeholder inputs.
Contribute to monthly forecasting through trend analysis and issue identification.

Reserving & Loss Analysis

Review claims variance figures and liaise with actuaries.
Monitor loss development and ensure alignment with expectations.
Draft reserving reports and committee memorandums.

Leadership & Process Improvement

Mentor and develop junior team members.
Manage a team of two
Support Head of FP&A with strategic projects.
Drive process efficiency and high-quality financial output.

Personal Profile:

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CAANZ, ICAS, or qualified by experience).
Extensive experience in the insurance industry (insurance carriers essential, we will not consider profiles from broking)
Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills, the ability to turn technical financial information into key business metrics.
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
Proficient in Power Bi.
Prior team management experience, with the ability to upskill, influence and develop.
