Purpose of Role
- Monitor and investigate unusual transaction patterns via internal and external fraud prevention systems.
- Monitor and identify fraudulent payments/withdrawals, taking appropriate action.
- Monitoring for any transactions coming from banned countries/territories
- Communicate suspected fraud matters to the business and suggest what further action is required.
- Communicate with external parties over suspected fraud matters and manage any further action required.
- Prepare reports and presentations of suspected fraud matters for review by the business.
- Work with the business to prepare and submit external reports about suspected fraud matters.
- Join discussions with the Risk and Compliance Officer, Senior Management Team, Board and other departments about suspected fraud issues.
- Manage and resolve any disputes and chargeback claims.
- Help investigating complex and sensitive Consumer related escalations, concerning suspected fraud issues.
- Engage with customers on matters relating to fraud prevention and/or payments.
- Provide ongoing staff training on the identification and dealing of suspected fraud matters.
- Provide the business with recommendations to increase the fraud prevention measures in the business.
- Close liaison with other departments
Ideal candidate will have:
- At least 2 years of experience in Fraud Prevention in an e-commerce environment and a good grasp of e-commerce fraud and tactics used by fraudsters to commit fraud.
- A good understanding of payment processes.
- Extreme diligence – spotting small changes and things that “just don’t seem right” that helps detect fraud.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Both analytical and strategic problem-solving skill set.
- Capability of handling sensitive personal information, at times.
- Computer competency – use of technology to conduct research, correspond with customers, colleagues and external parties.
- Creative ability to develop and offer problem solving rather than problem creating ideas with solutions that work, are user-friendly and easy to maintain in the business.
- An eye for doing the right thing for our business, customers and stakeholders.
- Good communication skills and ability to present fraud matters to the business.
- Ability to provide staff training on fraud matters would be desirable.
