Full Stack Engineer (React and TypeScript)

We are pleased to present a great long-term opportunity for an experienced Full-Stack Engineer working for a bank to help deliver its next generation of digital platforms. This role combines strong front-end expertise in React and TypeScript with proven back-end capability in Java and microservices, providing the chance to contribute to high-profile projects in a fast-moving financial services environment.

The engineer’s responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining modern user interfaces, implementing scalable front-end solutions with tools such as React, TypeScript, Redux, Jest, and Storybook, and ensuring applications are reliable, performant, and testable. On the back end, they will deliver robust services and APIs using Java and microservices design principles, integrating with relational and NoSQL databases including Oracle, MySQL, and MongoDB.

They will also support the migration and refactoring of existing applications, introducing best practices in clean coding, TDD, and CI/CD pipelines to improve maintainability and scalability. Experience with legacy-to-modern technology migrations is highly desirable, as this knowledge will support the organisation in evolving older systems into modern, scalable, and secure platforms. They bring hands-on experience working across Agile and Kanban teams, collaborating closely with product owners, designers, and engineers to deliver secure, high-quality software.

Their technical expertise also includes cloud platforms such as AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, Route53, Cloudwatch), as well as modern build and deployment pipelines using git, Jenkins, and TeamCity. With proven experience building complex platforms across financial services, energy, and digital industries, they will apply their full-stack knowledge to help the bank deliver cutting-edge digital solutions, with a primary emphasis on delivering exceptional front-end user experiences supported by reliable and scalable back-end services.
