Job Decription
As a full-stack software engineer you will be responsible for building a cloud detection and response product that helps customers to identify and resolve cyber-attacks in cloud environments.
You will own the prototyping and development of new and innovative ideas to further improve Darktrace’s services and offerings while balancing creativity, logical thinking and time constraints to implement novel features.
You'll find yourself collaborating with a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, project co-ordinators and technical strategists to create cutting-edge projects and optimising solutions to improve both speed and scale.
This role involves working with a wide range of infrastructures, languages and technologies.
Our Tech Stack Includes
- Frontend: Typescript, React, NextJS, TailwindCSS, Cypress, Jest
- Backend: Python, ElasticSearch, Postgres, Redis, AWS/Azure/GCP, Cloudformation & Terraform, K8s, EKS
This is a hybrid role, with a compulsory attendance of 2 days a week in the London office.
What Experience Do I Need
We welcome applications from engineers with strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills as well as excellent communication and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment. You will be an independent thinker with a startup mindset.
Technology-wise, you will have full stack-experience building and shipping reliable software. You will have experience with React or Python. You don’t need to be an expert, but we’ll expect you to demonstrate an understanding of fundamentals in the interview. We don't require cyber-security or cloud specific experience, but an interest is useful.
Additional Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient backend services and frontend interfaces using Python and React and relatable tech stacks,
- Collaborate closely with product teams, and other engineers to deliver high-quality features and improvements,
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning to ensure best practices and high code quality,
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and systems,
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and proactively suggest improvements or innovations,
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the team,
- Ensure security best practices are followed in all aspects of development and deployment.
