Fund Financial Controller (Permanent)
Overview:
My client are seeking an experienced Fund Financial Controller to take full ownership of the financial management of two closed-ended funds (covering both real estate and operational businesses). The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of fund reporting, compliance, transaction support, and financial operations, working closely with external providers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take sole responsibility for the financial control of two closed-ended funds, including tax compliance, financial reporting, and cash management.
- Prepare quarterly investor reports and regulatory filings, including FCA returns and ad hoc reporting requirements.
- Produce annual financial statements in line with IFRS (for consolidations) and UK FRS 102.
- Review VAT and Corporation Tax returns and oversee US K-1 reporting requirements.
- Monitor cash flow and ensure ongoing compliance with debt covenants, including preparation of quarterly IPD reports.
- Support fund-level transactions, including acquisitions of operational businesses and real estate assets, refinancing activities, fund restructures, and new fund setup.
- Lead the onboarding of new entities or acquisitions, including tax structuring and integration into existing processes.
- Attend board meetings and present relevant financial results and analysis.
- Oversee payroll processes and review operating accounts.
- Manage relationships with external service providers, including fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders.
