Fund Controller

Our client is a growth equity investment fund that has a pan-European mandate and is currently seeking a Fund Controller to join their team.

Entrepreneurial and ambitious at their core, the business has consistently attracted strong investor interest, with multiple oversubscribed funding rounds since inception.

Their growing portfolio spans diverse geographies and includes both consumer-facing and B2B software companies. Ahead of their upcoming fundraise, they are looking to strengthen their support team to sustain momentum and scale their operations further.

The firm operates with a tight-knit team comprising its investors and a small finance function. As a result, the Fund Controller will plays a pivotal role, taking on a broad commercial remit.

While core fund administration is outsourced, this role is responsible for managing that relationship and ensuring smooth delivery. Beyond that, the Fund Controller will support deal execution, investor relations, and contribute meaningfully to the upcoming fundraise, offering exposure to a wide range of high-impact, varied, and engaging work.

Examples of the activities include:

• Assist the investment team through investment closing and financing on new investments
• Assisting with deal structuring and due diligence
• Calculating capital calls and distributions
• Monitoring fund performance and use of fund performance metrics
• Supporting in the preparation of quarterly valuations and reviewing reporting packs provided by portfolio companies
• Support in the preparation of fundraising materials / responding to existing investor queries
• Review of quarterly and annual reporting packs prepared by Luxembourg and Guernsey administrators
• Preparing quarterly carried interest waterfall calculations
• Cash flow forecasting

Skills:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA)
• Genuine interest in Private Equity / Venture Capital and a desire to learn are absolutely essential.
• Private Equity / Investment Management audit, understanding of level 3 fund structures.
• Strong academic background with outstanding analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong work ethic.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with can-do style and desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as a team.
• High level of IT literacy, with strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.

The salary for this role will be £65,000 plus bonus, and they are currently operating a hybrid working policy.
