Fund Controller - Infrastructure

This role sits within a well-established, international infrastructure investment manager with a long track record of developing, owning and managing essential infrastructure assets. The business focuses on mid-market investments and has significant experience in early-stage development as well as long-term asset stewardship.

The platform manages multi-billion equity capital for a global investor base across listed and private vehicles, spanning both core and value-add strategies. It operates internationally with offices across Europe, North America, Asia and Australia, supported by a diverse team of investment, asset management and operational professionals.

Job Purpose

As Fund Controller, you will take primary responsibility for the financial reporting, control and operational oversight of unlisted core infrastructure funds with total net asset value of approximately £1.6bn.

The role encompasses fund financial management, treasury oversight, support for investment and transaction activity, and involvement in value-add initiatives across the portfolio. You will also support investor reporting and disposals, including drafting key sections of quarterly investor communications.

Day-to-day fund accounting is outsourced to third-party administrators, requiring close coordination, oversight and support from the internal finance function.

You will work closely with portfolio management, investment, tax and other central functions, playing a key role within a collaborative and growing infrastructure platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of quarterly investor and internal reports, annual statutory accounts and support for semi-annual valuation processes, in conjunction with third-party administrators
• Monitoring and analysis of investor returns on both a routine and ad-hoc basis
• Ownership of the external audit process
• Coordination of foreign exchange transactions, investor drawdowns and distributions, and capital flows into and out of investments
• Oversight of holding company structures, including funding, administration and ongoing maintenance throughout the investment lifecycle
• Management of outsourced fund administrators, ensuring accuracy, quality and timely delivery of all outputs

Skills and Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with approximately 5+ years post-qualification experience
• Proven experience in fund control within infrastructure, private equity or another alternative asset class
• Strong technical knowledge of fund accounting, IFRS reporting, treasury and foreign exchange management
• Experience supporting transactions and working closely with investment teams
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage across internal teams and external service providers
