Some key information

  • The position is a hybrid role being 26 hours a week and can be worked flexibly Monday to Friday
  • Salary is £19,472 - £21,830 per annum for 26 hours/week.
  • 28 days’ annual leave pro rata.
  • The role plays a significant impact on the provision of the Statutory provision of the Council’s Street Naming & Numbering Service

What will I be doing?

We’re working to improve the lives of people here in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Delivery of the Street Naming & Numbering Service
  • Management of the Local Land & Property Gazetteer
  • Delivery of the Street Nameplate Service
  • Providing Support to the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Team
  • Assistance in the management of the Councils Geographic Information

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:

  • Are able to demonstrate good communication and negotiation skills
  • Are able to deal with both internal and external customers and stakeholders
  • Have a warm, friendly, non-judgemental manner in order to be one of the main point of contacts for a public facing service. You will need to be calm and kind in difficult situations and conversations.
  • A strong attention to detail and experience in Street Naming & Numbering or similar
  • Can deal with changing and competing deadlines and priorities
