Working Hours

35 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm but additional hours may be required. We are happy to consider agile and flexible working patterns. Department Description

The General Banking team advises on a broad mix of financing transactions for a diverse range of clients, both lender side and borrower side (including banks, corporates, governments, multilateral and national development financial institutions, high net worth individuals, commodity traders and factoring houses). Our work is mostly international and cross-border with the majority of our clients located overseas. Our work includes general lending, hotel financing, receivables financing, trade and commodities financing, guarantee programmes, risk distribution arrangements, margin lending, bank template projects, financial institution lending, sovereign lending – in each case either in a transactional or advisory context.

The team is headed by three partners – Katie Gill, David Leggott and Andrew Taylor supported by a team of dedicated banking associates. The team also works regularly with other teams in London and in Hogan Lovells' international offices.

Person Specification

We are looking for an English qualified solicitor with two years post qualification experience in a law firm as a banking lawyer acting for both lenders and borrowers (whether or not in a general banking practice, or other finance specialisms like project finance, acquisition finance, real estate finance, trade and commodity finance, export finance). The candidate must be familiar with drafting and negotiating loan agreements (whether bilateral or syndicated, including on LMA forms), guarantees, security agreements and other forms of credit support. Knowledge of risk sharing arrangements like sub-participations would be helpful, as would experience in factoring and supply chain finance.
