Job Purpose
To optimise productivity and data quality for the capture and management of UUGIS updates by providing knowledge and support to the Data Maintenance team in relation to boundary maintenance and network updates, co-ordination of query resolution and supporting the development of productivity and quality reports. To take an active role in the development of the standards and methods associated with the updating of UUGIS.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Maintain and update UUGIS and ArcGIS systems by incorporating boundary and network changes from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Provide first-line support for network, boundary, and addressing issues, and liaise with other business areas to resolve complex or escalated data representation queries.
- Develop and uphold data standards and processes, including quality assurance, training of staff, and supporting system changes through User Acceptance Testing and Disaster Recovery Testing.
- Monitor and manage team workflows, prioritising tasks based on volume and business needs, while supporting continuous improvement through process reviews and stakeholder engagement.
- Generate and analyse reports, contribute to audits and projects, and ensure high-quality outputs that support the department’s service levels and strategic goals.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Strong expertise in GIS and network data, with excellent knowledge of distribution networks, boundary hierarchies, and address representation, particularly within UUGIS.
- Specialist understanding of either Water or Wastewater networks, while maintaining a broad awareness of all network types and their accurate representation in GIS systems.
- Proficient in interpreting and applying updates from various data sources, with a full understanding of the update lifecycle and collaboration between Data & Analytics and other business areas.
- Technically skilled in key business tools, including Microsoft Office, SAP (work management), Locator Hub, SharePoint, ProjectWise, and Business Collaborator (BC).
- Highly organised and flexible team player, with strong communication skills, effective time management, and a willingness to support audits, projects, and cross-team collaboration to meet business goals.
