About The Role

Global Asset Safety Lead – Safety Physician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and benefit-risk balance of our development and marketed products. You will lead proactive safety strategies, collaborate cross-functionally, and represent Global Patient Safety in key decision-making forums.

Reports to: Vice President, GPS TA Head
Travel: Up to 20%
Key Responsibilities
- Lead safety surveillance and benefit-risk assessments for assigned assets across the product lifecycle.
- Develop and implement Risk Management Plans and signal detection strategies.
- Provide expert medical input into regulatory submissions, safety reports (PSURs, DSURs, PBRERs), and health authority interactions.
- Act as the safety representative on Global Asset and Clinical Development Teams.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (R&D, Medical Affairs, Regulatory) and external partners.
- Support audits, inspections, and due diligence activities.
Essential Requirements,
About you - Required Knowledge & Experience
- Medical Expertise: MD qualification with several years of hands-on clinical experience, applying sound medical judgment in real-world patient care settings.
- Oncology Specialisation: Proven clinical practice in oncology, bringing deep therapeutic area knowledge and patient-centric insights to safety evaluations.
- Pharmacovigilance & R&D: Experienced in either pharmacovigilance or clinical development with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and safety governance.
- Early-Stage Development: Actively involved in early-phase drug development, including first-in-human trials, with a focus on risk identification and mitgation strategies.
- Fluent in English
Desirable Skills And Experience,
- Translational Insight: Background in translational medicine or toxicology, with the ability to bridge pre-clinical findings to clinical application.
- Specific experience in immuno-oncology
- Experience in managing health authority requests and participating in direct regulatory interactions, including early development submissions (e.g., IND, CTA) and related scientific meetings.
- Influential Leadership: Skilled in leading cross-functional teams through influence rather than direct authority, fostering collaboration and alignment across stakeholders.
- Interpersonal Agility: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of managing high-pressure situations and advocating effectively for safety positions.
- Emotional Intelligence: Demonstrates maturity, self-awareness, and resilience in navigating conflict, working independently, and supporting team dynamics.
