Role Summary and Impact
OpenMind is seeking a Digital Operations Business Director to lead the digital and in-platform advancement of our global biddable media strategy. The role is responsible for ensuring that our activation operations map to the strategic directions of Nestlé and support the ambitions of transparent, sustainable, data-driven decisioning. Reporting to the Global Transformation Lead, the successful candidate will work with WPP-Media specialist teams across a variety of strategic programs designed to ensure performance excellence.
This role requires a strategic and execution-focused leader with deep expertise in biddable media, data-driven marketing, and global client management and adoption programs. The role will include supporting on Nestlé operational frameworks including digital brand safety and suitability, audience targeting frameworks and digital data collection. The role will also extend into data-driven programs, focusing on the successful deployment and update of data solutions in-platforms such as Nestlé’s 1PD acceleration.
The role focuses on the development, deployment and measurement of these programs across markets as well as educating global stakeholders on the values and requirements of these frameworks. They will also act as a key connection for WPP-Media activation technology opportunities into Nestlé through those frameworks.
It is expected as part of the global OpenMind team, that the role will occasionally expand into additional business-specific projects, utilising the strategic expertise in biddable and digital to support on program building and adoption. That can extend to digital standards, media principles and data foundations.
The role requires a universal approach to biddable media and requires a strong understanding of digital media planning and biddable buying to influence and drive both the local market planning decisions and the subsequent deployment into activation (either local or across the offshore central digital hub).
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital media planning and execution, proven leadership experience, and the ability to collaborate across markets, platforms, and internal stakeholders. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Nestlé’s digital execution and drive continuous innovation in how we activate, optimize, and scale our media investments.
Key Responsibilities
Nestlé Digital Responsibility Plan (NDRP)
- Oversee the deployment of NDRP focusing on taking in-platform brand safety insights and Nestlé standards and principles into structures and formats that are tangible to in-platform delivery and stakeholder education.
- Support in development of suitability frameworks with key digital partners to ensure we maximise format and technologies within each platform to govern brand safety globally.
- Support in education series and communication programs on updates, new platforms/channels and emerging technologies. That includes support on safety-related partners such as verification platforms.
Driving the Transition to a Cookieless Future Through Scalable Testing, Measurement, and Innovation
- Lead Nestlé’s transition to privacy-first digital advertising by driving Project Nova and the Less-Cookies Initiative across global markets.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of market-level tests for non-cookie targeting solutions, ensuring strategic alignment and knowledge sharing.
- Develop and refine measurement frameworks to assess the performance of alternative targeting methods, prioritizing high-impact markets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to scale contextual, ID-graph, and cohort-based targeting approaches.
- Align initiatives with Nestlé’s Privacy Driving Brand Performance Playbook, driving adoption and continuous innovation across the media ecosystem.
Data-Driven Media & Platform Integration
- Lead the acceleration of 1st Party Data (1PD) integration into biddable media platforms, ensuring strategic alignment with broader marketing objectives.
- Collaborate with data, analytics, and media teams to develop a seamless approach to data-driven marketing execution.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations while maximizing the effectiveness of Nestlé’s data assets in media activation.
Global Learning Agenda & Test-and-Learn Leadership
- Define and manage the global learning agenda, ensuring a structured approach to experimentation, knowledge sharing, and performance optimization.
- Lead test-and-learn initiatives across markets, incorporating JBP-driven tests, bespoke solutions, and third-party opportunities to drive innovation.
- Scale successful test outcomes globally, ensuring that learnings translate into actionable improvements in media execution.
Strategic Media Leadership & Business Support
- Act as a subject matter expert in biddable media, advising on key areas such as media principles and platform governance.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to align digital execution strategies with broader business and marketing objectives.
- Provide thought leadership on industry trends, ensuring Nestlé remains at the forefront of digital media innovation.
