Global Environment Assistant (FTC) - The role:
- Support and coordinate the day-to-day delivery of Linklaters' ISO14001 certified Environmental Management System (EMS), working closely with the Global Environment Manager and Advisor.
- Act as main point of contact for approximately 26 offices' Global Environment Representatives, helping them manage their local EMS and prepare for audits.
- Drive and support the firm's Carbon Reduction Programme, including assisting with data collection, analysis, and performance reporting.
- Lead engagement campaigns to inspire staff action on sustainability, including World Environment Day and Earth Hour.
- Monitor, report, and analyse environmental performance against objectives and targets, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.
- Arrange internal and external EMS audits, coordinate responses to findings, and keep EMS documentation up to date.
- Collaborate globally, building relationships across 30 offices in 20 countries, and work with teams including Sustainability, Operations, Technology, Premises, Events, and Sourcing.
- Draft responses to client and stakeholder environmental requests and surveys (e.g. CDP Climate Change, EcoVadis, UN Global Compact).
- Become a super user of environmental data and performance software, supporting the annual GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions reporting process.
- Support the continuous improvement of Linklaters' Global Environment Policy, programmes, and communications.
Global Environment Assistant (FTC) - What we're looking for:
- Minimum two years' experience working with an EMS certified to ISO14001 or EMAS, ideally as an EMS Coordinator or similar.
- Experience training others on environmental responsibilities and processes.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with raw environmental data, supporting evidence and calculating performance.
- Working understanding and practical experience of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
- Relevant qualification, e.g. Higher National Diploma in Environmental Management or Science.
- ISO14001 EMS qualifications and/or practical experience.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to seeing tasks through.
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently, work collaboratively, and train and engage colleagues at all levels.
- Professional manner and a passion for environmental sustainability.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and adapt to changing requirements.
- Desire to contribute proactively to continuous improvement and innovation within a leading global law firm.
