The Role
This role represents a unique opportunity to join one of the industry’s largest and best regarded global asset management firms. State Street Investment Management (“State Street IM”) is looking for a high-performing, inspirational leader that will develop and lead its client coverage organization, value proposition, and distribution partnership approach, shaping the function to drive the next phase of its growth.
The Head of Global Client Coverage will be the firm’s key partner to the CEO and Executive Team on prioritization, expansion, and future direction of State Street IM.
This leader will set the end-to-end strategy for the firm’s client business (intermediary and institutional) and bring to life the company’s investment solutions, insights, and partnership oriented brand. He/She will engage with key clients around the world and build a high performing team that creates trusted relationships with existing and potential clients, collaborates effectively within the firm, and achieves above industry rate of inflows and growth in net new revenues for
State Street IM.
Distribution Team Leadership
The role reports to the President and CEO of State Street IM, and has direct leadership responsibility for a distribution team of approximately 600 colleagues around the world, responsibilities including:
- Bring sales leadership and management expertise to develop a high performing client coverage organization to increase the firm’s relevance with the world’s investors, grow market share meaningfully and achieve the firm’s sales and financial goals
- Engage in the development and articulation of strategic plans of State Street IM, and working in close coordination with the Chief Business Office and Investments organization, translate this strategy into actionable go-to-market plans
- Develop and lead a strategic and next gen distribution partnership program around the world & identify and act on opportunities in new markets or market segments to grow the business
- Build on State Street IM’s leadership position to provide differentiated solutions to investors
- Facilitate shared understanding of the client coverage strategy and priorities across key stakeholders
- Translate global strategy into action by aligning business activities to the vision and strategy of the regional organizations
Organizational Leadership
- Sit as a member of State Street IM’s most senior Operating Group Committee, helping set organisational strategy
- Attend State Street enterprise-wide executive meetings to ensure the highest level of connectivity and contribute to the tactical priorities of the business
- Lead collaboration across State Street Bank divisions to promote the franchise and create a strong outcome for the firm’s clients
- Identify opportunities to partner with Investment Services and Global Markets divisions to develop and deliver "One State Street" solutions to clients
- Lead initiatives designed to maintain the State Street IM and STT organizational culture and fiduciary mindset and improve employee engagement and experience
- Foster behaviours that contribute to cultural traits of speaking up when there is an issue and group accountability; Promote a culture of continuous improvement; and ensure a control environment that supports a compliance and risk culture
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in growing businesses in the financial services industry in North America, with experience developing sales, relationship management, and client service strategies and driving execution with proven results. This professional will have prior experience serving as a senior leader at a large scale asset manager firm, developing and setting a revenue growth strategy, and inspiring and developing top talent.

Job Requirements And Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 20 years of experience selling to and/or servicing intermediary and preferably institutional clients
- Experience in a large-scale investment management organization at the C-Suite level, ideally with knowledge in sales management practices as well as index and ETF strategies
- International experience in dealing with institutional and intermediary business’ around the world
- Existing industry profile and relationships that can accelerate the success of sales initiatives
- Track record of building complex solutions with and for clients, including active and multi-asset class strategies

Salary Range
$300,000 - $412,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
