This role is responsible for two strategic focus areas that are interconnected:
- The development and execution of strategies for philanthropy through the Kimberly-Clark Foundation and amplifying social impact globally.
- Sustainability/ESG Communications to demonstrate how Kimberly-Clark delivers value to its stakeholders through environmental sustainability, human capital management, stewardship of the planet and social impact.
Responsibilities
Kimberly-Clark Foundation
- Lead Foundation strategy and execution, including building and managing programs and partnerships that deliver effective impact at scale.
- Co-lead the development and implementation of new/expanded Foundation programs (including signature NGO initiatives and global employee programs).
- Co-lead the expansion of employee programs into global communities, especially supporting internal stakeholder management.
- Lead all communications for Foundation social impact .
Global Social Impact
- Partner with Marketing, Communications, Sustainability and business and brand teams globally to ensure Kimberly-Clark and its brands are maximizing the value of our Foundation-supported partnerships and demonstrating our impact through storytelling internally and externally.
Sustainability Communications
- Lead overall Sustainability/ESG communications strategy, developing a cohesive, purpose-based narrative and annual integrated communications plan to engage internal and external audiences about K-C’s impact partnerships, commitments and outcomes.
- Partner with Sustainability, other functional teams and third-party agency on ESG reporting and disclosure, including serving as project and editorial lead on developing K-C’s annual global sustainability report.
- Lead the development, alignment and implementation of Sustainability narrative & messaging across the enterprise. Partner with Enterprise and segment Comms to enable key leaders to effectively share our sustainability narrative internally and externally.
- Manage ESG-related crises/issues response, partnering with global communications teams.
- Lead benchmarking of Sustainability/ESG communications and reporting to identify opportunities for K-C to differentiate its positioning.
Team Management
- Oversees Senior Manager, Global Social Impact
Budget Management
- Manages team and project-related budgets

Experience
- 15+ years working in CSR/Communications/Philanthropy
- 15+ years of experience working with a large, global organization in corporate
- communications, with an emphasis on External Communications (ESG, Sustainability, Social Impact)
- 15+ years of experience in developing communication and stakeholder engagement strategies and/or experience in content development (e.g., writing long- and short-term, message frameworks/mapping, speech writing, etc.)
- Experience in Executive Communications, providing strategic support for senior leaders
- Broad business experience, demonstrating leadership and strong grasp of product, manufacturing, sourcing, marketing, finance, and sales functions
- People management experience, including developing and maintaining high-performing teams
- Experience in budget management
Skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with C-level executives and other senior leaders on enterprise-level programs and communications strategy
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and analytical skills
- Strong financial acumen
- Strong partnership/collaboration across teams/functions in large organizations
- Strong presentation, negotiation and influencing skills
- Experience measuring progress toward achieving stated objectives, leadership
- communication effectiveness, and other content and channel effectiveness
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and projects
- Strong experience in people management, including developing/maintaining high performing teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree desired
