- You’ll be at the forefront of advising on Corporate Governance matters, ensuring that good corporate governance practice is embedded in the execution of our Group strategy
- This is a chance to work as part of a professional and high-performing team, collaborating with colleagues across the pillar and the wider Corporate Governance function
- This role is available as either a full time or part time (minimum 28 hours) opportunity
- You’ll work from home some of the time, but you’ll also spend a significant amount of time working from the Edinburgh or London office
What you'll do
As a Governance Manager, we’ll look to you to provide coordinated, consistent and professional advice to the business on the Corporate Governance framework, including on the bank’s corporate governance policy and related mandatory procedures as well as external developments impacting our framework. You’ll collaborate to drive the embedding of corporate governance best practice across the business, identifying and acting on opportunities to improve corporate governance frameworks and processes.
You’ll support the maintenance and continued optimisation of the Group’s Subsidiary Governance framework, providing advice and support to subsidiary boards and company secretaries aligned to the Subsidiary Governance Principles.
In Addition, You’ll
- Act as a trusted adviser on a range of corporate governance framework issues, supporting and advising senior stakeholders across the function and wider business
- Help maintain an effective Corporate Governance policy for the bank, supporting effective embedding and understanding across the organisation through the provision of appropriate training, guidance and support to stakeholders
- Provide confidential advice and support to senior stakeholders across a broad range of strategic, board, ExCo and Corporate Governance matters
- Proactively analyse and advise on external Corporate Governance developments
The skills you'll need
We’re looking for someone with a curious and collaborative mindset who has experience within a company secretarial or legal environment alongside knowledge of the financial services regulated environments of our bank’s structure. You’ll be highly organised and someone who embraces and adapts to change, with the ability to manage highly confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.
We’ll expect you to be flexible and a collaborative team player, capable of building good working relationships.
