Description

We are always looking for exceptional individuals to join our multinational group of talented professionals and right now we are seeking to recruit a motivated and motivated and talented Graduate Embedded Software Engineer.


This role is based at our Wallingford site in Oxfordshire, a location rich in history and surrounded by beautiful countryside, offering a great working environment.


In this role, you will contribute to the documentation, design and development of models and embedded software for a range of electronic equipment that requires embedded control solutions. You will work through the full software development lifecycle – from requirements gathering to testing and deployment – ensuring high-quality product delivery. Working within an agile framework, you’ll use your skills in C/C++ and model-based design (Matlab/Simulink) to create reliable embedded solutions for our electrical test and diagnostic instruments.


Key Responsibilities


  • Contribute to the design and definition of software functionalities.
  • Develop software implementations using C/C++ and model-driven development tools (Matlab/Simulink) according to functional requirements.
  • Follow best practices for clean code, software craftsmanship, and SOLID principles.
  • Help develop effective software architecture to promote re-use and maintainability.
  • Develop verification against software requirements to support implementation delivery.
  • Collaborate in an Agile team, contributing to continuous improvement in process, code execution, and feature development.
  • Gather and refine product functional requirements, define embedded software behaviour, and implement embedded software modules.


Experience, Skills & Qualifications


  • Degree in a relevant subject.
  • MATLAB/Simulink knowledge.
  • Familiarity with C.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and hardware-software interaction.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Desirable: experience with model-driven development, Test-Driven Development, RTOS, and functional safety standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and enthusiasm for technology.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
