Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well established engineering team who supply bespoke automated machinery into a wide range of large, blue chip companies globally. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent engineering graduate to start their career working on cutting-edge mechanical design projects across a range of bespoke automation systems.

You will be exposed to entire product life cycle and gain invaluable hands-on experience working alongside senior engineers and will contribute to the full design lifecycle—from concept development to detailed 3D CAD design, prototyping, and production support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies for automated machinery.
• Create and modify detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software (Inventor).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, controls, and production to ensure integrated and functional designs.
• Conduct basic calculations for strength, tolerance, and materials selection.
• Participate in design reviews, prototype testing, and the implementation of design improvements.
• Support documentation activities, including bills of materials (BOMs), user manuals, and technical specifications.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of mechanical fundamentals, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor).
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
