We are excited to offer an opportunity for a graduate to join the Resourcing Solutions Team as a Graduate Recruitment / Resourcing Officer.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and gain recruitment experience in our award winning team, you will be responsible for supporting a wide range of resourcing projects, working with candidates, recruiting managers and external organisations.
Resourcing Solutions deliver multiple projects and this role will include the opportunity to be involved in following which are current priorities for the team.
New recruitment system implementation – this will be the main responsibility for this role:
We are about to embark on an exciting journey to transform our recruitment processes with the implementation of a new recruitment system. To support this change, we’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to play a key role in ensuring a smooth and successful rollout.
You will work closely with a number of different teams across the organisation to coordinate system setup, testing, training, and user support. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a transformative project that will shape the future of recruitment for North Yorkshire Council.

Recruitment Marketing
In addition to the above you will also have the opportunity to support our recruitment marketing team. The team are dedicated to showcasing our organisational culture and values and inclusive employer approaches. From crafting compelling content that reaches out to top-tier talent to implementing innovative strategies that captivate potential candidates. They ensure our employer brand stands out. Assisting recruiting managers in attracting, engaging, and recruiting the best-fit individuals who share our values, and ensure that recruitment campaigns reach target talent audiences including those that are underrepresented in our workforce.

This role will form part of the NYC Corporate Graduate Development Programme which offers you the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills in roles supporting operational delivery of frontline services. This role will be fast-paced and will require individuals who can demonstrate resilience and an ability to adapt to changes in legislation and recruitment practice.
This is an 18-month programme and will integrate training within the operational job role. It will include a variety of training and development opportunities which will be undertaken in more of a group setting with other graduates who join the 2025 cohort. You will also benefit from having the support of our existing cohort of graduate trainees who you can network and share experiences with. We have often found that strong working relations are forged from this.
We are committed to helping you secure a position with NYC at the end of programme, and you will be able to apply for internal and external vacancies which arise. The knowledge and experience you gain through the programme will strengthen your ability to secure further employment.
Training and development
As part of the development programme, you will complete the following in-house training:
•Corporate and Managers Induction
•Aspiring Managers Webinars
•Line Manager Leadership Programme (FLM)
•Access to online learning materials, including Ashridge Management College
•Graduate Network membership, including ‘lunchtime learning’
•Mentor support
We also expect that graduates will learn about the political landscape of the authority, gaining an understanding of how working with elected members helps shape our services and community focus.
In addition to your line manager, we will provide structured mentoring support with a senior manager, in the authority or partner organisation, to all of the participants on the programme. Continuous careers advice and guidance will be built into the programme to support you in identifying areas you would like to develop and how your career aspirations can be achieved within the Council.
