We are seeking a Compliance Officer to enhance Optiver’s global compliance strategy within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The candidate will play a role in ensuring regulatory adherence and driving global compliance initiatives across multiple jurisdictions. This role requires a strategic thinker who will be agile and adapt to getting involved in a wide variety of projects requiring a diverse range of skills to be deployed. The candidate needs to combine Compliance Advisory experience and expertise, curiosity about technology and market making, and drive and determination to make real change. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to influence and implement global strategy.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement a global compliance programme strategy, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Co-ordinate and contribute to high impact projects and technical compliance initiatives around policy and compliance infrastructure development and implementation
- Monitor emerging regulatory trends and advise on necessary policy adaptations
- Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management, highlighting key risks and recommendations.
- Act as the primary Compliance liaison for Optiver’s global OTC derivatives trading activities ensuring global compliance with CFTC/SEC, EMIR, MiFID II, MAS, and other relevant OTC regulatory regimes
- Collaborate with global compliance, legal, trading, and risk teams to ensure a unified approach.
Who You Are
- 5+ years of Compliance Advisory experience, preferably within a global trading firm, market maker, or investment bank.
- Knowledge of global listed and OTC derivatives regulations, including CFTC, SEC, EMIR and MiFID II is a benefit
- Experience with designing, automating and delivering Compliance programs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence
- Strong organisational, analytical and leadership skills
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience with AI and automation tools a plus
