We are currently looking for a Group Financial Accountant to become part of our Group accounting team. This position involves a blend of responsibilities, including spending two days each week at our Victoria office and working from home for the remaining three days. Job Purpose
Our financial operations revolve around the Group Financial Accountant, responsible for managing group financial accounting and consolidation processes for our £700m+ turnover private equity-backed global business. This role provides an outstanding chance to engage in diverse projects involving system improvements, M&A, and standard month and year-end tasks, including reporting, audit support, and analysis. Close collaboration with the Group accounting team, our outsourced finance provider, the Group Finance Manager, and the Group Financial Controller is key to ensuring smooth interaction with divisional finance colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute hands-on to closing the monthly results, financial year-end, preparation of group financial documents (IFRS), and associated accounting projects such as operational improvement and simplification.
- Work closely with our external finance partner on month-end transactional tasks to guarantee seamless implementation.
- Support the development of uniform and consistently detailed financial policies and processes.
- Assist in the implementation and development of supporting platforms, including OneStream, Tableau, Business Objects, and Blackline, to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
- Qualifications
- Part-qualified (finalist) or newly qualified accountant, with strong technical skills and a detailed understanding of consolidation.
- Proven audit background with a degree or equivalent experience level qualification.
- Experience with IFRS is desirable.
- Hands-on experience and knowledge of AP, AR, fixed asset accounting, etc.
- Intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of Excel for efficient data analysis and reporting.
- Outstanding attention to detail with a communication style that fosters positive responses from colleagues.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues at all levels.
- Experience with IFS is an advantage
