Group Financial Accountant - FTC

JSS is working in partnership with a leading automotive group headquartered in Milton Keynes to recruit a Group Financial Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This position plays a key role in preparing both the consolidated statutory accounts for the UK group and the statutory accounts for multiple UK subsidiaries. The role also includes involvement in project-based work, particularly around enhancing month-end and quarter-end reporting.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, procedures, and auditing standards, including relevant reporting requirements
• Prepare accurate financial statements for multiple trading entities in line with accounting standards and regulations.
• Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, managing requests and resolving queries in a timely, professional manner.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to streamline the collection of data for statutory disclosures.
• Review and enhance reconciliation processes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Support the implementation of a new accounting system in collaboration with the management accounting team.
• Drive continuous improvement in end to end accounting processes and internal controls

Your profile:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), with strong technical expertise.
• Extensive experience in financial accounting, particularly in multi-entity reporting and group consolidations.
• Solid understanding of key accounting frameworks, including FRS 102, with exposure to US GAAP considered advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently across teams and with senior stakeholders.
