Group Financial Controller

Location: Bristol region (Hybrid working)

Package: Competitive salary, plus car allowance and bonus

A fast-pace, professional services business with an international presence is seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to join its finance leadership team.

This is a pivotal role with responsibility for group financial control, consolidation and compliance across a complex, multi-entity environment. The position offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and plays a key role in supporting the growth of the business.

The Role

Working with the senior leadership, you will lead group accounting and oversee the controllership activity. Key responsibilities include:

Oversight of financial accounting, month-end close and balance sheet integrity
Ownership of group consolidation, reporting and audit processes
Preparation of statutory accounts and compliance activities
Development and maintenance of group finance policies, including transfer pricing
Leadership, mentoring and development of a small team and oversight of a wider finance function

Partnering with FP&A, treasury and external advisers

Delivery of ad-hoc projects supporting strategic and operational priorities

About You

You will be a technically strong, commercially aware finance leader with experience operating in a sophisticated / complex business.

Key requirements include:

Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, Big 4 background advantageous)
Experience with group consolidation experience
Experience managing and developing finance teams
Excellent attention to detail, judgement and stakeholder communication skills
Advanced Excel capability and experience with modern finance systems
