Job Title: Group Financial Controller

Location: London (Hybrid)

Compensation: £110,000 - £120,000 + benefits

A unique and exciting Finance Leadership opportunity has arisen within a high-growth digital infrastructure provider. Backed by institutional investors and operating at scale across the UK, the business is on an ambitious growth journey, supporting some of the most complex and high-profile wireless environments in the country.

This is a hands-on, transformative role where you will take ownership of financial control, reporting, and operational finance, while also playing a key role in supporting M&A and future expansion. It is ideally suited to a commercially minded, technically strong finance leader looking to shape and scale a PE/VC-backed business from the ground up.

The Opportunity

As Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for building a best-in-class finance function, driving automation, and ensuring robust reporting and compliance frameworks are in place. Working closely with the CFO/FD and wider leadership team, you will play a critical role in financial operations, governance, and strategic projects, while also mentoring and scaling a growing finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Operations & Reporting

• Oversee monthly preparation of consolidated financial statements and supporting papers
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of reporting under UK GAAP
• Lead cash flow management and optimisation of financial resources
• Oversee transactional finance, payroll, treasury, and project accounting, driving automation and efficiency

Audit, Compliance & Tax Strategy

• Lead audit readiness and coordinate external audits
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, reporting requirements, and governance standards
• Oversee tax strategy, transfer pricing, and R&D tax credit claims
• Strengthen internal controls and financial integrity

Systems & Process Improvement

• Drive finance digital transformation and automation initiatives
• Lead implementation and optimisation of financial systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Work with technology teams to enhance data integrity and reporting

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and mentor a finance team (c.4 FTE), fostering excellence and continuous improvement
• Support professional development and ensure the team scales with business growth
• Partner cross-functionally with senior stakeholders across operations, technology, and sales

M&A & Strategic Projects

• Support inorganic growth through acquisitions, funding requirements, and integrations
• Implement scalable financial governance and processes for acquired businesses

The Ideal Candidate

• ACA/ACCA qualified accountant (ACA preferred)
• Proven track record of transforming finance operations within a scaling environment
• Strong background in audit, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance
• Experience in technology/XaaS businesses, ideally with PE/VC backing
• Expertise in UK GAAP, financial governance, and controls
• Proficiency with MS Excel and financial systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 advantageous)
• Demonstrable experience leading and developing high-performing teams
• Hands-on, adaptable, and commercially minded leader with strong stakeholder skills

This role is based in London, with hybrid working (2–3 days in office). The client is looking to appoint quickly and is open to candidates with up to a 3-month notice period if flexibility can be provided.
