Group Financial Controller – 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Contract: 12-Month FTC

Salary: £110,000 - £120,000 Per Annum

We are seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to join a fast-paced, multi-site business on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a high-impact leadership role, responsible for overseeing the group’s financial reporting, treasury, and transactional services, while ensuring a robust control environment and delivering financial insights that drive business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the full Group P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
• Lead statutory and management reporting processes, including group half-year and year-end reporting in compliance with IFRS.
• Manage and improve the treasury function including cash flow forecasting, debt management, and covenant reporting.
• Oversee accounts payable, credit control, and cash management processes.
• Work closely with the FP&A team to improve insight and provide strategic challenge to the Operations team.
• Continuously review and enhance financial processes, driving efficiency through automation and process improvement.
• Present financial results to key internal stakeholders including the Executive Team, Retail Directors, and Audit Committee.
• Lead a team of 20 with four direct reports, ensuring strong performance and development plans are in place.
• Manage internal budgeting processes, particularly across central overheads.
• Partner with auditors, banks, and other external stakeholders as required.

What We’re Looking For:

• ACA qualified with a strong technical accounting background.
• Prior experience in a similar Group Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role.
• Strong track record working in a listed or multi-site business environment.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
• Confident communicator with experience engaging at Board and Executive level.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to challenge and influence decision-making.
• Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.
