Group Financial Reporting Accountant
This role will work with the wider Finance team to ensure financial reporting accuracy and contribute to an effective internal control environment. The Financial Reporting Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the company’s finance & accounting functions are properly managed and that all internal and external reporting requirements are met on a timely basis. The role will support broad company initiatives and interact with key internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Job Function:
Reporting into the Group Financial Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for a broad range of financial reporting activities, including the preparation of IFRS, UK GAAP and Irish GAAP financial statements, IFRS9, IFRS15 and IFRS 16 accounting, and treasury accounting. You will develop an end-to-end understanding of the Financial Reporting & Control function to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the EMEA group’s financial reporting. You will also develop a strong working relationship with other teams across the wider EMEA Finance teams.
Duties:
- Preparation of annual statutory financial statements for subsidiaries across the group
- Monthly reporting of key accounting areas across the EMEA group, including IFRS9, IFRS15 and IFRS16
- Support quarterly group reporting (group balance sheet and cashflows)
- Support the audit of group and subsidiary financial statements, acting as a key point of contact for external auditors
- Support with lender/investor reporting across the group, ensuring consistency, high quality and timely delivery
- Collaborate and assist on other group matters/projects as required
- Working in conjunction with other members of the team to continuously improve processing and reporting
- Supporting Business Services initiatives including cross-departmental projects and work transfer activities
- Ensure the Company’s internal financial control systems, processes and policies are complied with by all parts of the Company’s operations, including supply chain management, purchasing controls, payment authorizations
Job Requirements:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Previous experience in producing subsidiary financial statements (CaseWare experience)
- Good knowledge of IFRS accounting standards in particular 9, 15 and 16
- Strong technical accountancy skills
- Ability to work quickly to a high level of accuracy with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate and build relationships effectively across all areas of the business
- Results driven, ability to deliver to tight deadlines in a fast paced business
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, strongly preferred
- Experience in dealing with issues and problem solve
- Able to plan, organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate internally with team members as well as externally with vendors and other service providers
