The role
Building on our five-year growth plan to nearly double revenues and significantly expand operating margins, this role is critical to Azets' future success. Azets aims to become a sector leader in our usage Automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies that will both add value to our clients, enhance internal efficiency and as a consequence, grow revenues and improve operating margins. We strive to be the trusted accountancy and business advisory service that delivers lasting outcomes for our clients and the appropriate use of Automation & AI technologies will underpin that vision.
The Group Head of Automation & AI will lead the strategic direction and monetisation of Automation and AI initiatives across Azets. This individual will possess a deep understanding of AI, machine learning, and automation technologies, coupled with strong leadership, project management skills, and commercial acumen.
Key accountabilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the organisation's automation and AI strategy, aligning with business goals and objectives.
- Innovation: Identify opportunities to leverage Automation & AI to solve complex business problems and drive innovation. Prioritise Group wide automation initiatives & resources based on client need and & business impacts, feasibility, and strategic alignment.
- Governance: Establish a clear governance structure to oversee automation initiatives including senior stakeholders from IT, business units and Risk & Compliance teams.
- Centre of Excellence (CoE): Build a CoE which will be responsible for defining standards, best practices and partner / technology selections. Build an operating model which takes account of where activity should be centralized or federated into local business delivery teams.
- Technology & Architecture: Ensure scalable, secure, and interoperable automation solutions are deployed across the organisation. Define selection criteria for choosing RPA, AI, or workflow tools (e.g., scalability, integration).
- Security: Build appropriate Group wide Automation & AI security controls e.g role-based access, encryption, secure credential storage.
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of AI and Automation projects, ensuring they meet quality, budget, and timeline requirements both centrally and within Business Units.
- nt-size: 12px;">Team Leadership: Build, lead & mentor a team of geographically dispersed AI and automation specialists, fostering a culture of close collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Operations, Finance, Growth and broader Business Units, to ensure alignment, integration and monetisation of Automation & AI initiatives.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish a framework of reportable metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness and impact of Automation & AI initiatives.
- People Change & Enablement: Support Automation & AI adoption and skill development across the Group. Build training & certification programs for developers, business users, and stakeholders. Working with the Group Communications team, create regular Group wide updates including, success stories, and technology awareness campaigns.
- Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Automation & AI.
Skills & Experience
- Education:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience:Minimum of 8 years of experience in AI, machine learning, and automation, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Technical Skills:Proficiency in AI and machine learning frameworks, automation tools, and programming languages.
- Leadership Skills:Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, manage complex projects, and drive strategic initiatives.
- Communication Skills:Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of successfully implementing AI solutions.
- Experience in a similar industry or sector.
- Certifications in AI, machine learning, or project management.
- Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations.
