Group Risk Manager

Miryco Consultants are working on behalf of a dynamic, international insurance group to find a Group Risk Manager to join its central risk function. This is a high-visibility, second-line role supporting the rollout and integration of risk frameworks across multiple global business units during an exciting period of growth and transformation.

The role involves partnering closely with senior stakeholders—across both operational leadership and divisional risk teams—to embed consistent enterprise risk practices and ensure robust, transparent reporting. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping risk culture, leading critical assessments, supporting committee reporting, and providing expert second-line challenge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive adoption of group-wide risk frameworks and policies.
• Lead enterprise risk assessments and provide insight into key and emerging risks.
• Partner with senior leaders across divisions to align mitigation strategies with risk appetite.
• Deliver and contribute to risk committee reporting and root cause analyses.
• Engage in cross-functional collaboration with audit, compliance, and controls teams.
• Represent the risk function in governance forums and working groups.
• Support and mentor team members and contribute to leadership initiatives.

What You’ll Bring:

• Strong background in enterprise risk management within insurance or broader financial services.
• Deep understanding of risk frameworks, governance, and controls in regulated environments.
• Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and driving cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with relevant UK & US regulatory environments (e.g. US SOx Compliance, DORA, Operational Resilience, Third Party Risk Management, Financial Crime etc).
• A proactive, collaborative mindset with experience leading projects or teams.
