Job Description
- Designs wiring systems for one or more projects
- Is responsible for the application of product design
- Performs one or several of the following design elements:
- External and internal Change Management processes
- 2-D / 3-D Harness routing
- Design Release Engineering
- Determining whether a design solution is user-friendly, cost-effective and environmentally friendly
- Evaluating design solutions against industry standards and regulations
- Evaluate DVP impact on the product and establish solutions
- Drawing release and BOM accuracy
- Module split of 2D designs
- Module logistic code definition
- Resident Design Engineering
- Evaluation of customer systems
- Schematic Design
- Wire Dimensioning
- Regular communication with customer, engineers and our manufacturing plants
- Participate to all engineering activities related with the product (FMET, DFMEA,DMU, Design for Manufacturing, etc…)
- Regular presence in reviews related with the customer development strategy
- Circuits analyse
- VAVE proposals
- Is responsible for technical content for documentation according to customer specification
- Ideally educated to HNC/degree level, or equivalent, in an Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering discipline
- Knowledge of VW Systems and specific Bentley Systems
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and circuits
- Have a sound understanding of the harness design and manufacturing processes
- Experience working in a Customer interface role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (including presentation, technical communication and negotiation skills)
- Ability to comply with current relevant legal and internal defined standards, as well as safety and environmental regulations
- Ability to report risks, opportunities and to comply with deadlines
- Prepared to travel UK and overseas
- Competitive Salary dependent on experience
