The Role

Location: Baker Street, London W1 (office-based)

Contract: Full-time

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are seeking an experienced Head Cashier / Accounts Manager to take full ownership of our day-to-day accounts function.

This is a hands-on, senior role suited to a confident legal accounts professional with strong legal cashiering experience and an in-depth working knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules. You will play a key role in ensuring the firm’s financial compliance, accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Managing client and office accounts in full compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules
Legal cashiering and day-to-day bookkeeping

Preparation of monthly management accounts

Completing three-way client account reconciliations

Managing and clearing residual balances

Preparing for the annual SRA Accountant’s Report

Liaising with external accountants and auditors

Supporting the COFA on financial compliance matters

Maintaining and overseeing the Lawfusion Accounts system

Supervising accounts staff

About You

You will have:

Proven experience working within a UK solicitors’ firm
A strong working knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules
Solid legal cashiering and bookkeeping expertise
Experience in preparing management accounts and supporting audits
Confidence using Lawfusion Accounts
A meticulous, reliable, and compliance-focused approach

AAT / ACCA / CIMA qualification (qualified or part-qualified) is desirable.
