As part of our exciting expansion plans, we're shortly moving to a larger, more modern open plan office on Baker Street.


About the role


You will be a key point of contact in our new PBSA team, with the crucial responsibility of assisting the Director of PBSA and team in managing a new portfolio of assets across 2500 beds to launch from 2027. There will be a particular focus on control to ensure our new portfolio is operating in an efficient and compliant manner.


Responsibilities


Financial:


  • Support the investment team to assess new development and acquisition opportunities
  • Deliver the annual budgets and forecasting for all PBSA assets including the development of financial models for PBSA investments
  • Analyse financial data to identify key trends/ insight and make informed recommendations for performance improvement
  • Maintain financial control and discipline across all assets.


Leasing:


  • Support operations team to set leasing strategy, annual revenue proposition and budget in line with business plans
  • Monitor leasing performance closely, identifying key trends/ insight making informed recommendations to maximise revenue


Insight:


  • Prepare monthly reporting pack on asset performance, forecasts, compliance and variances
  • Deliver market-wide insight and analysis of PBSA, BTR and broader residential real estate markets
  • Provide full commentary on HE sector trends & analysis, including policy and legislative changes


Other:


  • Act as the primary interface between PBSA and Investment team
  • Proactively seek efficiencies to streamline processes & systems
  • Build and maintain good relationships with all departments across the business
  • Support ad-hoc projects/tasks as and when required by the Director of PBSA
  • Liaise with finance and property management teams to ensure all expenditure is invoiced correctly, fully collected and appropriately accounted for
  • Maintain constant level of interaction with all parties to monitor asset performance


About you


We are looking for a Head of Asset Management, PBSA who can build strong relationships with our operational team to ensure performance delivery for all our PBSA assets.


Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications:


  • High level of proficiency in MS Excel, able to develop Excel financial models
  • Sound understanding of the property sector and PBSA in particular
  • Experience in / exposure to the student accommodation sector
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ relevant experience in advanced financial modelling / analysis, working with large excel financial models
  • Experience working across leasing, insight and operational reporting
  • Exceptionally strong interpersonal skills, able to interface with colleagues internally and on a cross-border/remote basis and third parties.
  • Degree in Real Estate, Finance or equivalent
