The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) plays a critical role in protecting and improving public health through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices. We are now seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Commercial – Corporate to lead a key category within our Commercial Directorate.
Reporting to the Deputy Director Commercial, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering the Corporate commercial strategy, overseeing a diverse procurement portfolio spanning Communications, HR, Professional Services, Travel and Finance. With a spend of around £120m across the Commercial function, this role is central to driving value for money, reducing risk and embedding strong commercial practice across the Agency.
We are looking for someone to lead a pipeline of complex, high-value procurements, developing sourcing strategies that balance innovation, compliance and commercial risk. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective commercial solutions, provide expert advice on routes to market, and ensure robust, auditable procurement processes that stand up to scrutiny.
As a senior leader, you will manage and develop a high-performing category team, championing best practice and continuous improvement. You will also support Senior Business Owners and Contract Managers to drive supplier performance and maximise value throughout the contract lifecycle. Public sector experience and MCIPS are desirable but not essential.
