The Chief Customer Office (CCO) exists to drive commercial growth across all of Centrica Retail through focus on world class customer experience and highly attractive and compelling product and service propositions.
About your role:
Are you ready to shape how over 20,000 colleagues across Centrica connect with our strategy, purpose and progress? As the
Head of Communications & Resourcing you’ll lead a team of Communications Managers in delivering powerful, purpose-led internal communications that drive real engagement and business impact.
In this high-profile leadership role, you'll take the helm of strategic communications resource planning—ensuring the needs of multiple business units and campaigns are balanced effectively across our internal, digital, and creative communications functions. You’ll also step up as the formal deputy to the Director of Internal, Digital & Creative Communications.
What will you be doing?
- Effectively lead, coach and develop a team of Communications Managers to materially increase our impact, build world-class capability, and continuously improve our ways of working—delivering standout communications that set the industry standard.
- Oversee the effective allocation of communications resources and planning, to support business and corporate priorities
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to proactively strengthen colleague engagement and deliver communications that support business objectives.
- Lead the creation of a clear, compelling and meaningful colleague communication and engagement narrative, ensuring all messaging and channels are aligned with Centrica’s strategy, purpose and business goals.
- Oversee the development and delivery of creative, insight-led communications campaigns and content that resonate with colleagues and support key programmes and initiatives.
- Champion the use of colleague listening and feedback to drive continuous improvement in our communications approach and increase overall engagement.
- Work closely with colleagues across the Corporate Affairs function to help shape and implement Group-wide communications solutions and engagement strategies.
- Step in as the formal deputy to the Internal, Digital and Creative Communications Director, representing the function and providing continuity of leadership when needed.
Here's what we’re looking for:
- A strong, experienced leader with a track record of coaching and developing high-performing teams of communications professionals, enhancing capability, impact and delivery across all areas of internal communications.
- Proven experience in being an effective and trusted advisor to senior leaders providing advice and counsel on all aspects of communications
- Able to demonstrate exceptionally strong stakeholder management skills and an ability to build effective and collaborative relationships at all levels that drive improvements in the impact of our communications
- Strong strategic thinker with the ability to generate effective strategies and influence senior leaders to generate buy-in and support to achieve strategic objectives
- Extensive experience of leading the generation and effective delivery of impactful internal communications
- A strong advocate for insight-driven communications, able to use data and feedback to shape strategies, measure success, and drive continuous improvement.
- Skilled at identifying the right tone and narrative for varied audiences and delivering simple, purposeful, and aligned communications that cut through the noise.
- A strategic planner who can define clear outcomes aligned to organisational priorities and build effective roadmaps with milestones and goals to deliver results.
- Confident in influencing and coaching senior stakeholders to improve outcomes for colleagues, ensuring communication approaches continuously evolve and improve.
- Strong track record of collaborating across a complex organisation to help develop, deliver and drive solutions that work across boundaries and support overarching business goals at Group level
