Leicester Tigers is the biggest and most honoured rugby union club in the country. Based at Mattioli Woods Welford Road, the largest designated club rugby stadium in England, and one of the most iconic sporting venues in this country, Leicester Tigers is a major component of a thriving, competitive and successful domestic league structure.
The Role:
The primary focus of the role will be to develop, drive and deliver an ongoing plan of community focused Rugby and Engagement activities. Community activity has been a fundamental part of the club’s history and our commitment to providing opportunities to play rugby across the region is paramount to who we are as an organisation.
This role comes available at a critical juncture for the club as we look to deliver against an exciting and ambitious three year growth plan. As Head of Community, you should be ready to capitalise on our existing programs while also identifying opportunities to expand the reach and impact of our community activity both within the UK and globally. In addition, as a revenue generating arm of the business, you will work with the Senior Leadership Team to identify opportunities to drive sales and, critically, capture data through community events.
This role requires strong organisational skills and a robust awareness of safeguarding in the community as you will be responsible for managing all operational resources, including permanent and contract staff, to deliver all community programmes to the highest possible standard.
Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, the successful candidate will be working in an exciting environment with the opportunity to innovate and deliver experiences that bring a fresh approach to long term community engagement. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Developing an ongoing programme of community activities and events in line with the objectives and outcomes of the Club’s vision and values statement, always representing Leicester Tigers to the highest standards.
· Managing the Community delivery team, ensuring they have the support and skills required to meet all key performance indicators satisfying the terms of funding / grant requirements, safeguarding and welfare as well as Club objectives and outcomes.
· Working with and managing key stakeholder relationships including Premiership Rugby, the RFU and local constituent bodies.
· Leading on developing and sustaining a network of Tigers positive Rugby Clubs, Schools, and Community Groups to hit revenue generating KPI’s to include Tigers Rugby Camps, Match Days Coaching, Talent ID, Coach Education through community’s Group Sales team.
· Managing the delivery of Community objectives, and all planned activities, working towards an agreed annual budget, managing resources to deliver the most cost-efficient events and delivery.
· Communicating the work of the Leicester Tigers Community across the Tigers region and beyond, working with our marketing and social teams to raise awareness of events and opportunities to inspire and engage groups and individuals from the Rugby and wider Community.
· Presenting management information, case studies, monitoring and evaluation data to senior management, Tigers communications, funding partners and commercial sponsors as required.
· Working with the CCO to develop a digital community hub to spike engagement, affinity and data capture.
· To operate as a Club wide Deputy Safeguarding Lead, working with the Head of People.
· Carrying out any other duties and tasks required by management and the Club, which are within the post holder’s capabilities.
