Location: Cheshire (Hybrid: 2–3 days on-site)
Salary: c. £80k -£100k + Bonus + Benefits
A high-growth, award-winning fintech group based in Cheshire is entering a new phase of expansion following a recent business sale. With further investment activity and a series of planned exits ahead, the organisation is strengthening its leadership team and is seeking an experienced Head of Compliance to take ownership of its Group-wide compliance function.
This is a pivotal role, leading a small team and shaping the compliance framework across four operating businesses. The successful candidate will step into a genuinely influential position and play a central role in preparing the Group for capital raises, investor scrutiny and future transactions. You’ll be responsible for evolving the compliance strategy, enhancing policies and monitoring frameworks, overseeing regulatory obligations, advising senior leaders, and ensuring the organisation remains resilient, well-governed and investor-ready.
This opportunity would suit an established Head of Compliance or a high-potential senior compliance professional ready to take their first step into a Head-of-function role — without the burden of SMF accountability, which will remain elsewhere in the business.
What we’re looking for:
• Strong experience in compliance leadership within fintech, consumer credit, payments, lending or another FCA-regulated environment
• Deep understanding of FCA requirements, consumer credit regulation, payments regulation and data protection
• Experience managing or developing compliance teams
• Strong academics and/or Big 4 or top-tier advisory background welcomed
• Pragmatic, commercially aware approach and confidence engaging at senior level
• Someone who thrives in a fast-moving, scaling environment
What’s on offer:
• A senior leadership role during a highly exciting period of growth
• Direct involvement in investment activity and future business exits
• The chance to build and elevate a compliance function
• Hybrid working at an excellent campus location
• Competitive salary with the potential for long term incentive participation
